Juvenile Crimes

Dallas Juvenile Crimes Defense Lawyer

If your child has been charged with a crime in the juvenile system, you are very concerned about your child's future. You want to protect your child's freedom and get them on the right track to avoid ending up in the adult criminal system down the road.

The juvenile system is different than the adult system, but the penalties can be severe including commitment to the juvenile prison system or even certification as an adult and confinement in the adult prison system for very serious crimes. A major goal of the system as a whole in Texas is what is "in the best interests of the child." I believe in this premise wholeheartedly and believe that the juvenile system can provide tools for children to improve themselves and rise out of criminal behavior and become rehabilitated. That said, prosecutors often seek punishment that is too severe for the needs of your child. You need a good juvenile defense lawyer to balance it out get a fair outcome for your child even if they did do something bad or stupid. They may need only need probation or a pretrial diversion to get back on track. Sometimes, the charges are baseless and must be fought aggressively to achieve a dismissal or acquital at trial. In the worst cases, your child has done something horrible and you need a lawyer to fight for your child to minimize their loss of freedom.

My juvenile practice encompasses:

Vandalism
Criminal Mischief
Underage Drinking
Theft
Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle - Car Theft
Assault
Aggravated Assault
Sex Crimes

You should know that as the parent, I will do everything I can to keep you informed about your child's case. Please understand that if hired, I will be your child's lawyer not the family's lawyer. Client confidentiality will limit in some respects what I can share with you.
