Deferred Adjudication Granted for Felony Improper Photography case in Collin County
Client was using his camera phone to illicitly and inappropriately photograph women in grocery store. DA considered prison and was at least considering a felony conviction and a period of sex offender registration. Corrigan got client into treatment immediately after the arrest and had completed 4 months of treatment before the first court setting. Client had made great progress and Corrigan was able to convince the DA to grant 3 years deferred adjudication with no registration.

Deferred Disposition Granted for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Deferred Adjudication granted for Possession of Marijuana in Collin County
Client was arrested for growing marijuana in his house. Corrigan got client into Drug Offender Education and presented his background and convinced the DA to drop the case to only 1 year deferred. Corrigan also got the paraphernalia dropped to a deferred disposition. Both cases will be eligible to be sealed.

Felony Injury to a Child case No-Billed by the Grand Jury in Collin County
Client’s child had bruises at school and they suspected child abuse. The child did not outcry, but the child’s sibling claim that client had abused. Client proclaimed his innocence. Corrigan setup a polygraph with a highly regarded polygraph operator and client passed. Corrigan organized affidavits explaining the complete circumstances of the day of the injury along with the polygraph report in a grand jury packet and presented it to the DA. The Grand Jury No-Billed the charge and it is eligible for expunction.

Client granted work release for DWI Jail Sentence, with new Felony Charge, while on Felony Probation
Client evaded police on his motorcycle at over 100 mph. It was determined that his blood alcohol concentration was over twice the legal limit after he crashed and was arrested for DWI and felony evading arrest. He was also on probation for felony in Collin County. Corrigan got client continued on probation, got a new probation for the Felony Evading, and convinced the DA to grant work release for a 90 day jail sentence. Corrigan got references from family, friends, and co-workers, showing that this was out of character for him. Client is able to keep his job.

Petition for Nondisclosure Granted in Collin County
Client was arrested for 3 felony burglaries when he was 19 in Wylie, Texas. He subsequently lived out a 10 year deferred adjudication. 5 years later, he fire Corrigan to file a petition for nondisclosure sealing records and cleaning up his criminal history. Corrigan filed the petition and called his client as a witness at the hearing in front of Judge Wheless, presiding judge of the 366th District Court. In the end the judge was convinced that the granting of the nondisclosure was in the interests of justice.

Deferred Adjudication Granted for Possession of Controlled Substance case in Collin County
Client was pulled over on a traffic stop and claimed less than a gram of methamphetamine in McKinney, Texas. She was arrested. She was at that time on felony probation in another county and later was arrested for 3 new offenses (2 felonies and 1 misdemeanor) while on bond for the possession case in Collin County. State jail confinement seemed unavoidable. Client fired her first attorney and hired Corrigan. Corrigan learned of client’s heartbreaking life story that included abuse, life-threatening medical conditions, mental illness, and addiction. Corrigan retold the story of client’s life through in-depth interviews with client and compiling medical records, psychiatric records, and police records. Corrigan’s impassioned pleas over 3 months with the prosecutors in 3 counties resulted in client getting a misdemeanor probation out-of-county and getting continued on deferred probation out-of-county. Collin County also gave 2 years deferred adjudication thanks to Corrigan’s efforts. Client went into a residential facility for addiction after pleading out. If client is successful, she could have the records sealed in all 3 counties in the future.

Early Release from Probation granted in Collin County
Corrigan filed a petition for early release in the 380th District Court. Corrigan interview client’s probation officer and compiled records related to client’s history of employment and the furtherance of his education in the years since being on probation. In the end, the judge was convinced that granting the early release was in the interests of justice even though client had nearly 5 more years to go on the original terms of probation.
